Join us on Friday the 26. June from 19 h for an exhibition of exemplary works drawn from the diverse fields of practice of partners in the medienwerk.nrw network which push and expand the ascribed borders of artistic sectors and disciplines. The exhibits include digital, time-based, physical, manual and conceptual approaches which together give a broad overview of current transdisciplinary working methods. The exhibition will be preceded by a lecture.
Over the following two days, representatives of the key institutions working in media art in NRW are for the first time holding a conference to critically examine the terms of their own thinking and practices in interdisciplinary art production.
The medienwerk.nrw, a network for media art in North Rhine-Westphalia founded in 2000, is unique in the Federal Republic of Germany. Its contributors include a wealth of organizations working in the areas of production, presentation, research, teaching, archiving and mediation. As an active member, we are pleased to host the network’s first major conference.
