Heine Avdal / Yukiko Shinozaki
Field Works-hotel

  • Duration 25 mins
  • Performance Performance for just one spectator at a time

In a captivating encounter with the poetry of everyday life during PACT Zollverein’s summer festival 2012, Heine Avdal und Yukiko Shinozaki introduced visitors to a dream-like, absurd in-between world behind the closed doors of PACT’s offices. Now the two artists continue unraveling the conventions of non-theatrical spaces in an intimate site-specific performance set in a hotel. At the Maritim Hotel in Gelsenkirchen, where PACT’s guest artists regularly stay, one visitor per performance will be immersed in the mysterious past of an ordinary hotel room: how many people have stayed here? What happened before we came in? Are we really alone, or can we hear the room breathing? Do we remain silent spectators, or will we become a character in a story?

At the Maritim Hotel Gelsenkirchen
