Flora Détraz: On ›Muyte Maker‹

On Stage

»Hearing an imposing deafening silence, this video is a proposal for a small introspective journey into the creative process of the piece Muyte Maker. Passing through scores, notes, drawings, crossing some images references, in an unrational/ "association of ideas" ways. Hoping up and down for gathering and sharing smells and cells again.«  (Flora Detráz)

›Muyte Maker‹, the performance that choreographer Flora Détraz would have presented at PACT during ›Remix - A Spring Festival‹, is a sensual, humorous and energetic experience, a homage to the power of transformation and joy. Taking femininity as a potential in constant metamorphosis, in this work Flora examines joy as a physical and existential statement; joy as desire and creativity; as a physical distortion, contradiction or a state transcending morality.

In her video, Flora offers us a closer, more intimate insight into her work: She shares her influences and sketches, designs for both the choreography and singing, as well as models in art history that inspired her production’s fulminant setting.
