Pichet Klunchun

The Thai classical mask dance, khon, formerly an exclusively Royal entertainment, combines dance, theatre and music to narrate episodes from the Hindu epic The Ramayan. In his solo I am a demon Pichet Klunchun who trained in khon from age 16 in Thailand with one of the best masters of the genre, Chaiyot Khummanee, searches with contemporary sensibility for the hidden wisdom behind the traditional dance structures and movements of the ›Demon‹ character.
