Following the great success of the first edition of ›Tach am Bach‹, we kicked off this year's neighborhood festival with great anticipation on September 6. As in previous years, numerous organizations, initiatives, and individuals from the neighborhood took part, turning the lawn at Freie Schule Essen e.V. into an oasis of art, community, sustainability and joy. Delicious food and drinks, concerts, dance performances, and a flea market created a lively summer atmosphere and, above all, plenty of opportunities for people to connect, relax, exchange, and experience.
There was a vibrant programme to enjoy on stage: Dein Couseng, the band Jon Priml and the Big Band of the Gymnasium am Stoppenberg provided live music, interspersed with DJ sets by ADJO and ISOKEN, a dance performance by La Lok Libre e.V., and a communal singing experience.

The programme also included activities that encouraged to do crafts, paint, tinker, rummage, sing or dance. Several local initiatives and associations, such as Imkerverein Essen-Katernberg, presented their work and attracted visitors to their stands with participatory activities. For all hungry visitors, there was also a wide range of delicious food on offer, for example from the Katernberg Women's Association Ana-Tolia e.V.: from homemade dishes and snacks to sweet pastries and non-alcoholic cocktails, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Once again, Katernberg showed its lively, creative, and spirit of solidarity. We would like to thank everyone who helped organize the event, contributed to it, and showed their commitment this year.
