›TRANSFABRIK‹ is a bilateral federal incentive initiated by the Institut Français Deutschland / Bureau du Théâtre et de la Danse in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut. The German project partners are PACT Zollverein (Essen), Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin) and Kampnagel (Hamburg) and the French partners, Centre Pompidou (Metz) the Festival Perspectives (Saarbrücken), Le Quartz-Scène nationale de Brest and in Paris the Théâtre de la Cité Internationale, the Collège des Bernardins, Les Ateliers de Paris – Carolyn Carlson / the Festival JUNE EVENTS, the Centre Pompidou Paris / Les Spectacles vivants and the Rencontres Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis.
These 11 international partners are committed to the goal of sharing and exchanging their knowledge and experience. The project consists of two parts: alongside programmes of performances at the different venues focusing on performance art, it includes interdisciplinary workshops and an internet portal run in cooperation between German and French universities reflecting on and connecting all the project partners’ activities.
TRANSFABRIK is an initiative of the Institut Français in cooperation with the Goethe Institut. The project is funded by Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin, the French Ministry of Foreign affairs, the French Ministry of Culture and Communication and the DFJW.

The project is held in the framework of the German-French year - 50 years of the Élysée Treaty.
