ISEA2010 RUHR – 16th International Symposium for Electronic Art

The ISEA2010 RUHR is one of the most important international festivals for electronic art. In 2010 the festival comes to Germany for the first time as part of the European City of Culture RUHR2010 and presents the latest developments in medial art from across the world. The ISEA RUHR2010 opens on the weekend of 20 to 22 August at PACT Zollverein with an exciting programme of performances, installations, workshops, conferences and a keynote opening speech from the philosopher Brian Massumi. The thematic focus of the first weekend delves into the relationship between body, media and performance. Following on from Essen, the programme of exhibitions, concerts and conferences continues in Dortmund and Duisburg up until 29 August. Die ISEA2010 RUHR, 16th International Symposium on Electronic Art is a project of the European City of Culture RUHR2010 and is organised by Hartware MedienKunstVerein on behalf of medienwerk nrw; it is funded by the RUHR2010 GmbH, the Minister President of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the city of Dortmund and the Kunststiftung NRW.
