Is man, as the 'crown of creation', past his prime? Are we creators or puppets, destroyers or inventors? Subject or object? For his transmedia opera ›GESCHÖPFE‹ (›CREATURES‹), choreographer Ben J. Riepe teams up with composer Gordon Kampe, six performers and two musicians to construct a utopic space to explore these questions and focus on the interconnectedness of nature, technology and human beings. Between encounters with earth, fire, water and air, the creatures struggle with digital-mechanical avatars as well as their own corporeality as they attempt to secure their place in the world order.
