Following previous editions produced with collaborating institutions from the USA (2009) and Turkey (2011), the third edition of  Feldstärke International - the transnational variant of PACT Zollverein’s Feldstärke regional programme initiated in 2009 - takes place in 2014 in cooperation with the transdisciplinary creative centre ›Montévidéo‹ in Marseille and the Kyoto Arts Center. During the year, each of the three participating venues in this unique intercultural and cross-disciplinary exchange will host a weeklong residential working session for around 30 students from more than 20 different art universities and academies in NRW, France and Japan.

Through field research conducted in temporary learning and working alliances in each of the three locations, the students will test intercultural and interdisciplinary working methods, examine urban, cultural and artistic contexts, investigate their similarities and differences and engage with new and unforeseen approaches to their own and others' work. 

The first leg of the journey brings the students to PACT Zollverein in Essen where they will set up base camp from the 26th of June to the 4th of July.  This week will round off with a first public presentation of sketches and extracts of their joint work on the 3rd of July. Following this, the students will set off directly to Marseille and then meet again in Kyoto in September for the final stage of the edition.
