EXPLORATIONEN 11 – Beyond Curating

  • Fri 28.01.11Sun 30.01.11 00:59 h23:59 h

The symposium ›Beyond Curating‹, organized by tanzplan essen 2010 at PACT Zollverein, is the first of its kind in the field of dance in the German-speaking world. Against the background of a successive dissolution of branches of art and increasingly hybrid artistic forms of expression, the symposium seeks to bring together artists, curators, and theoreticians with their respective specific experience in the areas of performing and visual art. Alongside the general transfer of experience between the disciplines, the symposium will investigate new ways in which art can be made publically visible and also identify examples of particularly successful curatorial strategies and approaches to this objective. The thematic spectrum ranges from curatorial decision-making and ethics, through performative and process-oriented curating, to transcultural and transdisciplinary approaches.
