CONCRETE (5 min)

Liesbeth Koot & Lucas van der Velden [Rotterdam]

Choreographer Liesbeth Koot develops projects in collaboration with media artist Lucas van der Velden that concern movement and space in dance, image and sound. How are time and space experienced in varied art forms and in different environments such as the black box of a theatre or the white cube of an exhibition gallery?
In her work, Liesbeth Koot considers that which is actually evoked by a scene. Does the audience see what the artist wants to show or does it also see that which isn't intended to be seen but nevertheless exists?

GEMISCHTES DOPPEL (17 min)
Christina Hänsel & André Eiermann [München]

What happens when two people try to be like one another and do everything just as the other one does? What happens when each person wants to be the other and at the same wants the other to become them? During their residency at PACT Zollverein Christina Hänsel and André Eiermann explore the consequences of Doppelganger.

Performance

RESONANZ (20 min)

Sylvi Kretzschmar [Köln]

Sylvi Kretzschmar's work intersects performance, pop music and documentary theatre. In the atelier she shows extracts from her solo performance Resonanz which is developed from interviews with striptease dancers. However, beyond just striptease, Resonanz is about the magical power of theatre and making the body an expressive space for extrinsic voices.

DAS ENDE VON AMERIKA (30 min)

Maximilian Marcoll, Hannes Galette Seidl [Essen, Gießen]

Hope comes into being where something is missing, where gaps can be felt. Hope is the motor to fill these gaps. The goal of hope is to make oneself superfluous, to attain a state of happiness, a state in which a lauded land like America/Utopia is no longer needed. The departure point for Das Ende von Amerika is Franz Kafka's novel Der Verschollene (America) published in1927, in which the protagonist, Karl Rossmann, feels constantly confronted by want and inadequacy.
During their improvisation, dis.playce develop sound structures, samples, formal extracts (scenes), fractions etc. from which the performance scores are composed. They utilise a special software called COOPER, developed by Maximilian Marcoll, in conjunction with external sound sources such as small spools, piezos and alarm signals.

GATING, IN 8 MINUTES AROUND THE WORLD

Per Pegelow [Düsseldorf]

Gating, in 8 minutes around the world offers the user a reality to be explored in a virtual game. Users find themselves in a panorama with labyrinth-like structures which open up the opportunity to move in 8 minutes around the world by mouse click. In the process they implicitly experience something about the character and interaction of tele-reality and globalisation. Gating, in 8 minutes around the world is a development on a version of the installation that was first shown in June at PACT during feldstärke.
