OIKOS (15 min.)

Concept/Choreography: Ji-hyun Youn (Amsterdam)

Performer: Diego Gil, Felix Marchand
Ji-hyun Youn's research project Oikos takes its starting place from the book "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra and Ji-hyun's interest in the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in quantum physics from 1927 which states that "The more precisely the Position is determined, the less precisely the Momentum is known in this instant, and vice versa". For that reason, in this quantum world you can only speak about proximal statistical probability of being or appearance. Ji-hyun explores the premise that in order to understand the logic of the quantum world and oriental mysticism, you need to transcend logic itself.

SMALLTOWNSUPERMOVE (10 min)

STALKER CITY / FASE 1 (15 min)

Dance / Choreography: Daniele Albanese (Parma)

Daniele Albanese's starting point for his latest project Stalker City - fase 1 is the writing "Théorie du Bloom" by Tiqqun and, in particular, this works definition of the, in underground philosophy, so called "Bloom". In the making of this work, Albanese's physical research into the "means" or "motors" of movement is informed by his ongoing research with the Italian Neurophysiologist Elena Borra and a synthesis of information from the areas of Release Technique and Tai Chi Chuan..

MIXTAPES (15 min.)

Dance / Choreography: Felix Marchand (Berlin)

Mentor: Martin Nachbar

Assistance: Ayara Hernandez

The term Mixtape refers to recording media such as cassette tapes and CDs, on which music titles from different groups are newly compiled. With media of this kind, a creative procedure is triggered the moment a passive consumer becomes actively involved in forming and shaping a recording: with so called mixtapes or self-burnt CDs, he creates a new product. Through the process of self-selecting music titles, cassettes and CDs become tangible items of memorabilia, with every song reminding the listener of a personal story.
During his recent residency at PACT Zollverein, Felix Marchand investigated the theme of the use and content of such mixtapes.

SPURENSUCHE / EIN BERICHT (15 min)

Lina Lindheimer (Berlin)

Thanks to Katharina Bischoff, Philipp Schulte, Rabih Mroué

Spurensuche (searching for evidence) presents the truth and reports on an investigation into the public domain of which we are all part of as long as our identities can demonstrate clear coordinates. Spurensuche looks into the authenticity of various documents and simulates the feasibility of absolute control through the supposed transparency of given information.

ICH GLAUBE AN DIE LIEBE, UND DU (I BELIEVE IN LOVE, AND YOU)

Stefanie Unruh (München)

With thanks to the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl!

Stefanie Unruh's video installation I believe in love, and you engages ironically and playfully with the Western consumer society's understanding of happiness and desire for love. Consumers are to a great extent unaware that role models in advertising are artificial icons which have been digitally manipulated and retouched to conform with fashion ideals. "In our media society, people's expectations in the search for a partner are, not lastly, so exaggerated because of the considerable influence of status symbols, brands and over perfect body images used in advertising". (Birgit Sonna)
The installation was made possible by the Marl Video Installation Prize awarded to Stefanie Unruh in 2004.
