Heiner Goebbels

The composer and director Heiner Goebbels (*1952) belongs to the most important exponents of the contemporary music and theatre scene. His compositions are performed by various orchestras and ensembles, his radio works broadcasted by many German speaking radio stations and regularly there are about eight music theatre productions in the repertoire of Ensemble Modern, Theatre Vidy, Les Percussions de Strasbourg and artmobil which have been showed and are to be seen at many major international music and theatre festivals. Since April 1999, Heiner Goebbels works as a professor at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen (Germany). He is in charge of several seminars and artistic projects and since winter 2003 managing director of the institute.
