Led by two internationally renowned video dance artists, Philippe Decouflé and Thierry de Mey, the Video Dance Workshop 2000 offered 12 selected participants expert tuition and experience in the genre.

Philippe Decouflé, Thierry de Mey


Decouflé and de Mey discussed their individual work processes and techniques and, together with workshop participants, explored the possibilities that result from combining music, motion pictures and dance.

Henk van der Meulen


Henk van der Meulen, programme director for music and dance with the Dutch television broadcasting company NPS Hilversum examined specific forms of script writing for video dance and also consider standard ›pitching‹ methods.

In addition to this both artists presented a ›directors choice‹ screening of some of their own works that will be open to the general public as well as to workshop participants.

The workshop was aimed at choreographers, directors and film or media students who already have a ground knowledge of the subject.
The jury nominated twelve applicants to participate, free of charge, in the workshop.
