In 2006 we took great pleasure in starting to work on the question of how dance and other relevant knowledge fields might be intertwined to engender an inspiring dialogue that opens the disciplines to one another, allowing them to mutually profit and further develop. The existential theme pervading all of our ideas is learning: How can one approach the quest for more sensible and applicable learning strategies in a more varied, deep, and exciting way? EXPLORATIONS has come to represent the heart of our work during this pursuit. This symposium invites experts from a wide range of disciplines to exchange ideas on artistic and scientific methods and practices through theoretical and practical formats as well as to assess their transferability. Resulting from this exchange will be multifaceted and eclectic knowledge that may well be the resource for and generator of a new form of academy.
