Every Friday, the ›Open WerkStadt for Kids‹ invites young people from the neighborhood to get involved in fun and creative activities together. Over the course of the year, we have many different exciting topics and cool activities on offer. Each month has its own theme. The afternoons are led by our workshop leader Andreea who speaks Romanian, German, English, Italian & Spanish. There are no requirements for joining in the open WerkStadt. Everyone is welcome. The ground rules for inclusive, respectful interaction are always decided jointly by all those taking part.

Crafts & sculptures
In April, we will be building and working with our hands and creating figures from a wide variety of materials. Every Friday we will create our own sculpture that you can take home with you.

May (03., 10., 17., 24. & 31.05.)
Exploring the neighbourhood
In May, we go out into the neighbourhood. Together we will explore various places in Katernberg and talk to people in the neighbourhood. What does their everyday life actually look like and what does a neighbourhood look like?

June (07., 14., 21. & 28.06.)
Nature & climate
We spend the summer days outside in the sun and nature. On the topic of 'Nature & Climate', we ask ourselves the following questions: What does sustainability actually mean? And how can we live it? How is our everyday life connected to nature?

July (05.07.)
Summer party
On the last Friday before the summer break, we celebrate our own little summer party. We ring in the holidays with soap bubbles, games and street chalk and look forward to seeing you again after the summer.

Children - cinema - Katernberg: and of course short films! On two dates in April and May, WerkStadt and DOXS RUHR will once again present a joint film programme.
