Sascha Engel, born in Germany, graduated from our school as a choreography major. When he proposed his project last season, he specifically wanted to work with a group of male dancers who were in their first year of professional training. Remembering himself how difficult it was to be 'a late starter' in dance, he felt he wanted to build a bridge for the dancers, introducing the joy, excitement and reward of performing as a counterpoint to the incredibly challenging task of training. Sascha creates his own productions, a mixture of theater and street-dance. He also dances for other choreographers.

Bringing French-born choreographer, teacher and dancer Morgan Belenguer into the Rotterdamse Dansacademie proved to be a unique and rich experience for everyone involved. Morgan's work is built with sensitivity, artistry and skill. At first, we found it difficult to understand where his idea was going. But once his piece was put on stage, something became visible and present that could not be experienced in the studio. Its true magic only seems to unfold in performance... Morgan Belenguer's work caught international attention during the Hanover Choreographic Competition where he was given the critics' award. Morgan is based in Germany where he dances and choreographs for various companies.

TRIPLE 5 SOUL und MARCHE MAREQUAGE wurden beide für die Studenten der Rotterdamse Dansacademie choreographiert. Sie repräsentieren zwei extreme des derzeitigen Repertoirs. Wir sind in der glücklichen Lage sehr unterschiedliche Künstler einzuladen, die mit unseren Studenten arbeiten. Fast alle Stücke unseres Repertoirs wurden speziell für unsere Studenten choreographiert.
