Colourful birds, zombies, superheroes and monsters - get ready and create your own fantasy characters! In keeping with tradition, the first event of the New Year at PACT is always our ›Open Day‹. This ever popular occasion offers visitors both young and old a glimpse behind the scenes of a bustling theater and arts center. This year PACT invites children to try their hands at a host of fun, creative things to do themselves and has prepared a variety of online activities for children to enjoy at home.
At the heart of this year’s ›Open Day‹ is our real hero of the day: you! Once you’ve cut out, glued and painted your very own superhero mask, you’ll be all set to go!

Grab some pens, stickers, glue, scissors and whatever else you have at home to transform yourself into a PACT superhero. You can design and create your very own superhero mask anyway you like. All you need is your imagination and you're all set.

Main stage
How does stage lighting work? How can you change a character with light and shadow? And how can you create different moods with music? Our trainees Leon and Desirée have dug deep into their amazing box of theater tricks for you. Featuring a special guest star created by balloon artist Hakan Eren, their fantastic light show and sound installation puts PACT’s entire theatre inventory to the test and is recorded as an immersive 360-degree video. We recommend you use headphones for an exceptional sound experience!

Have you seen the colourful PACT animals on this year’s open day poster made by our illustrator Nes Kapucu. With our colouring drawing, the budding artists amongst you can create your very own versions of them. What colours will you chose for the octopuses or dinosaurs? We look forward to seeing your results! Post them under #pacthelden and with a little luck you could win tickets for a performance for children at PACT very soon!

Our feathered friends are always happy to find an extra portion of food to help them through the cold season before spring arrives. In our video tutorial, you can learn how to make a creative upcycled bird feeder out of a simple milk carton and do something good for the environment!

Our chef Wim has been at home in kitchens all over the world and regularly cooks delicious local and seasonal dishes at PACT and always with a special twist. For this year's ›Open Day‹, he has a delicious recipe in store for you with kale - a recognised superfood that warms you up on cold days, provides you with important vitamins and minerals and, above all, tastes really good.
