1/2/8 — demanding responses: ATELIER Spezial

Follow its successful launch earlier this year, the second research festival 1/2/8 sees PACT given over in its entirety to an assembly of international artists, scientists and experts for a three-week focused exchange of knowledge and actions. Centring around forms of collaboration and self-organisation, 1/2/8 mixes private sessions, forums, project presentations, open labs and joint field research and is flanked by a series of public performances, lectures, table talks, installations and other events devised and led by the participants.

Drawing on PACT’s established ATELIER format, artists participating in this edition will present sketches and excerpts from their current artistic focuses and/or initial results of their research during 1/2/8.

In customary ATELIER style, visitors are invited to encounter their diverse artistic positions at their own time and pace during the course of a shared evening length programme which traditionally takes over the whole house. Taking part, amongst others, are members of HOOD, a collective of international artists who are all former members of the Forsythe Company and currently part of a fellowship programme at PACT, as well as the experimental working group ‘Formations’ which includes contributors from the fields of art, philosophy, climate research, yoga, urban planning and political activism.
