1/2/8 - Demanding Responses

Dance academic and journalist Betina Panagiotara and sociologist Michael Guggenheim will also be sharing insights into their research interests during two public lectures. Panagiotara's lecture examines the extent to which persistent times of social crisis in Athens are influencing artistic processes. Michael Guggenheim, a researcher and lecturer at Goldsmiths University in London, presents his project 'Organising Disaster: Civil Protection and the Population', in which he creates new catastrophe scenarios and draws conclusions on forms of emergency care.

In the second edition of our research residency programme 1/2/8, international artists, academics and experts are currently working at PACT under the title ›Demanding Responses‹ on diverse projects centring around forms of collaboration and self-organisation and how knowledge and action can be combined.
