Our society is fundamentally shaped by discrimination based on one’s social background and position. Access to education and health care are shaped by it - this is also why classism can pose a life-threatening danger. The divide between rich and poor has been growing for years, and the barriers between classes are becoming more rigid. Francis Seeck is a social scientist, author and anti-discrimination trainer and emphasises: A critical examination of classism is necessary and urgent – only in that way a just society can be achieved. As the child of an unemployed single-mother, Seeck experienced the effects of classism at an early age. Today, Seeck researches and teaches on classism and social justice at Humboldt University Berlin.

The event will be held in German.
