Presented for the first time in Europe, ›The legend of the god of thunder‹ from the Hawaiian dance company PA’U O HI’IAKA, depicts the life of one of the last great ruling chiefs of Maui through a hula drama that includes Hawaiian chants, kahiko (traditional hula), dramatic interpretation, musical performance, and traditional storytelling. Choreographer Hokulani Holt, is a master of ancient hula dedicated to the preservation of traditional Hawaiian cultural practices and has directed the dance ensemble for the last 30 years.
