›Der letzte Schrei‹ (the Dernier Cri) can refer to a new fashion trend or the latest sensation or, if taken metaphorically, can also stand for death. In his same named series, Ben J. Riepe, Affiliated Artist at PACT Zollverein since 2013, gives center place to the human body. Eight dancers investigate the beauty and vulnerability of manifestations of the body in a performance space, in fashion or as objects of desire. Oscillating and exploring the boundaries between the body and sculpture, space and movement, dance, music and visual art, ›Der letzte Schrei‹ is a dialogue between drama and irony that offers rich physical allegories for presence and elusiveness, for the beginning and the end of being.
