Artists from all fields and disciplines are regularly invited to present their current projects at PACT within the framework of ›ATELIER – Platform for New Art and Choreography‹. Following an open call without thematic or genre requirements, works in various stages of development are selected for each ATELIER edition – from initial try-outs to finished works. These can be seen in one evening in a surprising combination in all rooms of the former Waschkaue – the audience can experience a diverse program until late at night. ATELIER No. 71 once again features artistic contributions from various genres such as performance, dance, music, installation, and media art.

In ›when the broken glass glitters‹, Isabelle Edi, Iris Omari Ansong, and Cherella Gessel interweave their practices of dance, sound, video, costume, and performance into an interdisciplinary exploration of Afro-diasporic memory.

Chloe Chignell attempts to translate in the performance ›SUN CUT: a lover's dictionary‹ the entries in Monique Wittig & Sandie Zeig's ›Lesbian Peoples: Materials for a Dictionary‹ (as a lexicon with 366 gestures) into embodied scores.

Dominique Tegho deconstructs with Anthony Nakhlé in the performance ›the intimacy of collision‹ Levantine dances such as Dabke and Baladi, reimagining conventional representations of bodies positioned within Orientalist imaginaries.

Silke Schönfeld tells in her short film ›Die Unvorzeigbarkeit dessen, was nie hätte geschehen sollen‹ the story of two sisters who embark on a turbulent journey into their childhood to trace the continuities of National Socialist child-rearing ideals.

In the lecture performance ›Brews, Bubbles, Broths, and Much, Much More›, Xiaoji Song adresses invisible labor, colonial continuities, and global capitalism, among other topics, through the example of migrant(ized) workers in the hospitality sector in the Ruhr region.

Maria F. Scaroni installs a live room in which she will improvise and re-work live some of the materials and personas from the work in progress ›Unsex Me here‹ – a work in which trans femmes meet sages-femmes, the perimenopause become truly regal bitches, and voiceless queens make themselves heard.

Ariel Efraim Ashbel and friends track in their lecture performance ›SOS – a research‹ the traditions of jewish artists of Mizrahi origin and look at Jacqueline Kahanoffs idea of Levantinism as a dramaturgical concept.
