With the world premiere of ›Volcano Time‹, choreographer Kate McIntosh finally returns to the PACT stage. McIntosh views performance as a public gathering – a place where connections between people are forged and collective emotions can be experienced.
In her latest stage spectacle, McIntosh experiments enthusiastically with theatrical glitter and mystery, blending smoky entertainment with amateur biology. Can feelings erupt through a group like magma? Can they flow from one person to another and escalate? Which ones sparks tension, and which ones calm it?
›Volcano Time‹ is a theatrical experiment that invites the audience to sharpen their own senses while exploring how shared feelings arise, are shared, shaped, or politicized. With a dazzling visual world inspired by nocturnal glamour, the work marks a return to a traditional stage and seating following a series of immersive productions.
