We are witnessing a present in which our coexistence is increasingly drifting away from a shared reality. As places become locations, bodies become data, and matter becomes resources, it is often only in moments of disruption that we experience how everything is interconnected. ›IMPACT26 – Friction Energy‹ takes this point of rupture as its starting point.

This year’s edition of the transdisciplinary symposium is dedicated to transformative practices of coexistence in an age shaped by competition, exploitation, the pursuit of progress, power and social recognition.

Can art—as a field of tension where all these logics converge—facilitate unexpected forms of cooperation? How do we learn from other actors and fields of knowledge when human and non-human participants acknowledge one another as collaborators? On 30 and 31 October, international practitioners from various disciplines will share their perspectives on these questions with the audience at PACT Zollverein.
