Mette Ingvartsen

Drawing on hallmarks of the counterculture and experimental performances of the 60's such as excess, nudity, eroticism, ritualistic pleasure, audience participation and political engagement, the Danish choreographer Mette Ingvartsen, who regularly presents her critically acclaimed productions at PACT Zollverein, looks closely in her new solo ›69 positions‹ at the contemporary body searching for cracks in our understanding of sexuality today.

›69 positions‹ marks the start a new cycle of work entitled ›The Red Pieces‹ in which Mette Ingvartsen looks at sexuality and the relation between the politics of the body and structures of society.
