On Friday evening FAM_ invites us to late night karaoke: As a re­enactment of identity performances in pop music, FAM_Karaoke plays on the dreams and traumas of collective memory, adolescent desire and pain, guarded secrets, and the common trials and tribulations of self­-discovery. Karaoke offers a modus for exploring and recod­ing ambivalent ideas about the self and others, about gender, race, and class, about sexuality and love, and generates emotional closeness and temporary alliances.
