In ›ON:Joy‹ choreographers and performers Maria Mercedes Flores Mujica and Constanza Javiera Ruiz, ›ON:Joy‹ explore how emotions affect the body. Feelings like ecstasy, euphoria, intoxication and joy change the body and generate states of intense energy. Bliss, pleasure, vibrancy, serenity, abundance, wonder, merriment, frenzy, relaxation are just some of the many manifestations of joy and pleasure that people want to experience over and over again.

Maria Mercedes Flores Mujica & Constanza Javiera Ruiz are both dancers and choreographers from Southamerica based in Cologne. They share an appreciation for rhythm and festivities from their places oforigin. They draw inspiration out of the effect that emotions have to move people. They mixed their knowledge on linguistics, sociology and dance to create ›ON:Joy‹. In it, they worked with the mentoring of Reut Shemesh and Ulrike Nestler in the frame of the INKUBATOR Residency in Tanzfaktur.
