Helgard Haug / Cornelius Puschke / David Helbich

The project ›1000 scores‹, initiated by Haug/Helbich/Puschke and co-produced by PACT, brings together a growing collection of instructions for short performances by international artists, each of which can be realized by any one person. The score commissions are awarded in cooperation with various partner institutions. For example, in summer 2020 Johannes Paul Raether, RYBN.ORG, Annie Dorsen, Tabita Rezaire and Trajal Harrell contributed scores in direct collaboration with PACT.

In the run up to the US presidential election day 2020, Haug/Helbich/Puschke, PACT and the Goethe-Institut Chicago have invited 10 artists to develop scores specifically for this fateful day. Olad Aden, Dana Caspersen, Frances Chiaverini, Davis Freeman, Vlatka Horvat, Tom Lee, Tahila Xicahuamazatl Mintz, Ellen Rothenberg, Julie Tolentino and Tara Aisha Willis have responded with very different possibilities on how to get through it.
