Sensory stimuli & Content notes

Various changes in the lighting: Use of light in different colors, varying in brightness throughout the performance. Use of flashlights. Music that varies in mood, volume, and tempo. In one scene, the performers' shadows are visible. In some scenes, there is singing and body percussion.

The work plays with different ways of dressing up and transforming, sometimes with surprising moments of being different.

Eine Szene aus der Performance Flip-Flop: Zwei Tänzer*innen performen auf dem Boden einer Bühne mit schwarzem Hintergrund. Sie tragen eng anliegende, langärmlige Oberteile in Violett und Blau. Beide halten lange, bunte Stoffbänder in Gelb, Blau und Violett, die sich in geschwungenen Linien über ihren Köpfen und Armen winden. Die Beine sind angewinkelt und leicht angehoben, die Körper nach hinten geneigt, was eine dynamische Bewegung andeutet.

What could be better than letting your imagination run wild?

›Flip-Flop‹ invites even the youngest children and their families to let their imaginations run wild and dream up their own fascinating worlds. Nasheeka Nedsreal and Cíntia Rangel awaken the joy of playing in young and old alike. In the process, the production functions almost without words, instead employing movement and objects, with stretched-out socks and play tunnels transformed into figures, turning the stage into a children’s room full of opportunities for exploration. At the end of the performance, the young audience can join in and experiment with the props on stage themselves.
