For ›Shifting Grounds – IN COMMON‹, Lea Ehrenboth, Hood Cuisine, and Flintasy are creating a collaborative creative dinner that brings together food, art, and encounter. Inspired by the history of Zollverein and the connections between people, places, and resources, they are crafting a shared table composed of culinary and artistic fragments.
Seasonal dishes meet an installation made of coal, mirrors, metal, and interwoven structures that draw on the site’s history and bring to light questions of community, change, and coexistence. Parts of the installation were created during an open Flintasy meetup together with other creatives from the network and reflect the collaborative spirit that shapes both Flintasy’s work and the creative dinner. In a lovingly designed setting featuring shared plates, the communal table becomes an invitation to meet new people, exchange perspectives, and experience a sense of community.

Hood Cuisine is a local culinary project based in Essen that operates primarily in the sociocultural sphere. Its goal is to make high-quality, ethically conscious cuisine accessible to as many people as possible and, in doing so, to foster connections. All meals served are vegan or vegetarian. The concept was created by Golo, who has worked as a chef in various kitchens for over ten years and has been freelancing for the past two years. Whether it’s a pop-up, catering, or community event: it’s about more than just satisfying hunger.
Flintasy is a platform for artists and cultural creators in the Ruhr region founded by Larissa Nennstiel and Elena Marina Sandner. Through magazines, workshops, events, and collaborative projects, they create spaces for connection, exchange, and visibility.
In collaboration with Lea Ehrenboth, who combines enjoyment with mindfulness in her understanding of holistic well-being, perspectives converge that are similar at their core: the conviction that community arises where people can come together, share, and learn from one another. While Lea creates spaces for connection through food, Flintasy develops formats for creative networking, skill-sharing, and collaborative creation. Both are united by an interest in how care, exchange, and new connections can be experienced in everyday life.
