›cross fair 1999 - Dance and New Technologies - Navigating New Constellations‹

Basic Ideas
Are the performing arts suited to new forms of media? Are new forms of media suited to the performing arts? When is co-operation between artists from these different sectors provident or even necessary? How can such collaborations take shape, on what conditions are they dependant?

Cross Fair is a chance for 80 participants with professional experience in the performing arts, digital arts and technology, fine arts, music and media sectors, to take part in an interactive five day symposium. Experts from the fields of body/movement and technology will create a concentrated working atmosphere that incorporates presentations, lectures, performances, installations and demonstrations and actively promotes discussion and debate.

Tanzlandschaft Ruhr's ›Cross-Fair‹ projects represent invaluable openings for artists from diverse specialist sectors to introduce their own individual projects and make interdisciplinary contacts and encounter new collaborators.
