For the very first time, a diverse collection of social and cultural initiatives, groups and institutions working in the district of Katern­berg are jointly opening their doors to the local community for a vibrant programme of events.

Whether you’re looking for an exhibition, a tour, a demonstration, a ceremony, handcrafts, a competition, to play a game, sing a song, have a cup of tea or something else entirely, the 7 hour occasion offers an unpre-

cedented and fun opportunity to explore both familiar and unexpected facets of local life and gain a greater appreciation of our neighbourhood’s cultural diversity.

* Mitglieder dieser seit 2013 bestehenden Initiative sind zurzeit: Jugendamt Essen, Bürgerzentrum Kon-TAKT, Institut für Stadtteilentwicklung, Sozialraumorientierte Arbeit und Beratung der Universität Duisburg-Essen, Jugendwerk der Arbeiterwohlfahrt Essen, Jugendzentrum Schonnebeck, PACT Zollverein, Stellwerk GmbH (Kinder- und Jugendhilfe) und Stiftung Zollverein. Neben dem persönlichen Erfahrungsaustausch sollen im Dialog für die uns umgebenden Stadtteile möglichst langfristige und nachhaltige Projekte realisiert werden, die mit Übersprüngen des Sozialen und der Kunst arbeiten.
