Antonia Baehr / Valérie Castan

Choreographer and visual artist Antonia Baehr creates sensuous and humorous pieces that investigate the experience of fiction in everyday life and in theatre. Her latest work ›Misses und Mysterien‹ was made in collaboration with the French dancer and performer Valérie Castan who has recently made a name for herself with audio descriptions of dance pieces for the blind and the visually impaired. Together they composed a description of an imaginary dance performance, which is then read out loud by Valérie Castan or Anna Schmidt and superimposed with actions by the drag performer William Wheeler and live music by Andrea Neumann. Addressing how the imagination, music and stage actions interact, ›Misses und Mysterien‹ is at once a choreography, a ›Nouvelle Vague‹ drag show and a radio play.
