Two dancers perform on the floor of a stage with a black background. They wear tight-fitting, long-sleeved tops in purple and blue. Both hold long, colorful ribbons in yellow, blue, and purple, which wind in curved lines above their heads and arms. Their legs are bent and slightly raised, their bodies leaning backward, suggesting dynamic movement.

During the ›KIDS DAYS‹, the former colliery is transformed into a place of pure magic. Here, the youngest visitors take centre stage and will be inspired by dance and performance with their families. Both the house and catering catering in the lobby are open on both days from 12 midday to 4 pm. Accompanying the shows, there will be a free puppet workshop for the whole family.

The dance performance ›Flip-Flop‹ by Nasheeka Nedsreal & Cíntia Rangel invites even the youngest children and their families to let their imaginations run wild and dream up their own fascinating worlds. Nasheeka Nedsreal and Cíntia Rangel awaken the joy of playing in young and old alike. In the process, the production functions almost without words, instead employing movement and objects, with stretched-out socks and play tunnels transformed into figures, turning the stage into a children’s room full of opportunities for exploration. At the end of the performance, the young audience can join in and experiment with the props on stage themselves.

›The Cat Who Wanted To Change Her Tale‹ by Thomas Noone Dance is a magical story about friendship, trust, and solidarity. Does the cat invariably have to be the eternal baddie, the owl a stickler for rules and the mouse perennially afraid? The story is based on a traditional Sanskrit tale: cat, owl, lizard and mouse live in the broad roots of a banyan tree. Although predators and prey, they manage to live together peacefully. However, their delicate balance is shaken when the cat falls into a trap and only the mouse can save it. ›The Cat Who Wanted To Change Her Tale‹ tells a magical story of trust and solidarity in contrast to the laws of nature, accompanied by an Indian-inspired soundtrack.
