›local dancing‹ invites you to dance local dances accompanied by live keyboard music. For example, there is the 5-5-5-5-5-Dance, the Summertime-Sadness-Dance, the Fairy-Dance, the Procession-Dance.
Drawing on queer tradition and expressively invented instant tradition, ›local dancing‹ reimagines popular group dances that seem to have traveled through time and now appear in non-binary and unpaired constellations. With no national affiliation, the dances simulate being local, wherever they are performed. They give us a reason to come together and let ourselves be held in the repetition and routine of a circular choreography.
