Nothing gets lost, every trace leaves a mark: Since 2025, the literary magazine BRACHE serves as a platform for new literary voices from the Ruhr region. As part of the summer festival ›Shifting Grounds – IN COMMON‹, editorial team members Esra Canpalat, Julienne De Muirier, and Lukas Hermann will present the project in a listening session on the slag heap – featuring music and poetry readings by Miriam Yosef, Orli Yomi, and Anissah Chatha.

BRACHE is a magazine for new literature from the Ruhr region, founded in 2025. It is published twice a year and is available free of charge. Each issue is dedicated to a theme that invites readers to paraphrase or get to the heart of the matter, to view it under a microscope or through a wide-angle lens, to sow new seeds, or to dig themselves out of history.
