Explorationen13 – Local Encounters

How can mediation, participation and incentive strategies practiced in the arts be applied effectively in social fields? What kind of interesting possibilities arise through dialogue with artistic practices for day-to-day social work with children and adolescents? Building on past editions of the series, ›EXPLORATIONEN13‹ looks at how ideas from the fields of games research, performance, art mediation and urban research can be used by professionals working in social contexts.

Over a period of two days, PACT Zollverein invites artists, scientists and art mediators to take part in an active exchange with professionals working in different social contexts in district 6 of Essen.

›EXPLORATIONEN13‹ marks the start of a new research initiative into encounters between artistic practices and social realities that will continue with a symposium in early 2014.
