Antonin Artaud liest faust

What is happening to the body in our virtualised world? Laurent Chétouane, best known for his concise approach to staging ›language-space-body‹ works, explores this question through dance, the art form of seemingly uncircumventable physical presence. As the text – the second act of Goethe’s ›Faust 2‹ – ›grapples‹ with body, the dancers Sigal Zouk, Frank Willens and Jan Burkhardt question the possibilities of representation on stage. Can performers deal with their own images on stage and thus regain their political power over the audience? Or are hallucinations the new form(ula) of existence for mankind? ›Faust 2‹ as an image manufactory: pictures emerging and disappearing –›gliding‹ (Artaud).
