JUNGE CHOREOGRAPHEN – A CO-PRODUCTION BETWEEN PACT ZOLLVEREIN AND THE FOLKWANG ACADEMY

Following the postponement in February of the YOUNG CHOREOGRAPHERS evening due to a major fire at the Folkwang Academy, the PACT-Team are delighted to be able to offer the Academy an alternative venue to hold their planned performances: Chosen in an internal selection process from a total of 38 choreographies, the programme is made up of 16 works, including solos, duets and group works, choreographed by second, third and fourth year Folkwang students. The format is a recognised springboard for up and coming artists from the Folkwang Academy of whom many go on to achieve international success. Two of the choreographers who presented works in last years edition have since been awarded international prizes: Morena Nascimento received the Lyra Award at the Junior Delphic Games last November in Baguio City (Philippines) and Chikako Kaido the ›Best Solo Dance Performance Award‹ at the SzólóDuó International Dance Festival (Budapest) in January.
