From road movies and documentaries to film essays and literary adaptations, the multi-award winning film director and photographer, Wim Wenders is internationally acclaimed for his atmospherically dense and striking film imagery. Wenders breakthrough came in 1973 with the road movie Alice in the Cities (Alice in den Städten) which traces a journey from the USA via Wuppertal to the Ruhr District where he was later to film PINA, his vivid cinematic monument to Pina Bausch which received the German Film Prize in 2011 and was nominated for an Oscar in 2012. At the invitation of PACT Zollverein on the occasion of the Tanztheater Wuppertal jubilee season PINA40, the renowned director is hosting a talk with special guests at PACT offering the audience a unique insight into his work.
