ca. 70 Minuten

A hall, in it the choreographer Lia Rodrigues and the performers of her piece “BORDA”. Lia Rodrigues is wearing a dark top and gray trousers with a colour gradient. She walks upright to the front. Behind her are the performers, their bodies wrapped in white fabrics. They are preoccupied with themselves.

Lia Rodrigues’ new work ›Borda‹ is all about overcoming the geographical, political, social and personal barriers that surround us, be it visibly or invisibly: not just walls of barbed wire, concrete and hedges, but also those formed of convictions, beliefs and differences. In Portuguese, the word »borda« not only means border, but is derived from the verb »bordar« - to decorate, embellish or, in a figurative sense, »to imagine something«. Imagination gives us the opportunity to overcome what separates us from one another. How can we integrate the land of our visions, wishes, memories and futures and take it with us? Perhaps by patiently and painstakingly weaving together a permeable place of flowing otherness, a piece of embroidery in which edges move, float and dance.
