Orli Yomi is an Afro-diasporic poet and spoken-word artist from the Ruhr region. In her work, she weaves together memory, Black feminism, spirituality, and the language of emotions. As part of the summer festival ›Shifting Grounds – IN COMMON‹, she will read from her debut poetry collection ›Sonnenwenden‹, published in 2025. The poems explore pain and healing, Black femininity, tenderness, and personal growth. Following the seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter, the texts accompany moments of letting go, learning, and new beginnings, inviting readers to embrace change as part of life and to find their own path. A poetic homage to everyone who finds their place and keeps returning to themselves.
