PACT Zollverein is the initiator, driving force, and stage for groundbreaking developments in the fields of dance, performance, theater, media, and visual arts. With a structure that is unique in Germany, PACT Zollverein, located in the heart of the Ruhr region, fulfills a regional, national, and international social and cultural mission in its four fields of work: ›Stage‹, ›Artists' House‹, ›PACT·LAB‹ and ›Urban space‹, PACT Zollverein fulfills a regional, national, and international social and cultural mission that contributes to the localization and appreciation of dance and performance as independent art forms.

The research and development formats at PACT Zollverein offer students, artists, practitioners and scientists from various disciplines the opportunity to experience a temporary working and learning community. Together, they test, examine and question artistic strategies and processes.

Auf einem belebten Parkplatz sind zahlreiche Menschen versammelt, einige sitzen auf Strohballen, andere stehen oder gehen umher. Über dem Bereich sind bunte Wimpelketten in verschiedenen Farben gespannt. Im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Verkaufsstand mit einem blau-weiß gestreiften Sonnendach, an dem mehrere Personen stehen. Der Boden ist mit Stroh bedeckt, und es herrscht eine lebhafte, gemeinschaftliche Atmosphäre.
Urban Space

PACT continuously reflects in its work on its immediate urban embedding and roots in Essen-Katernberg and initiates projects for the joint shaping of urban society.
