Oblivia

Founded in 2000 in Helsinki, the international performance company Oblivia is a unique force on the Finnish performance scene. Oblivia’s collectively devised, interdisciplinary and minimalist performances merge the boundaries of art forms and nationalities. Coming from Finland, Iceland and the UK and with backgrounds in performance art, music and dance, the core team members have developed a unique common performance language with an unmistakable sense of humour. Oblivia regularly invite guest collaborators to partake in individual projects. Oblivia is part of the Produforum network based at Korjaamo, Helsinki. In spring 2007, they received the Stina Krooks Award for their long-standing commitment to developing work that merges the boundaries between theatre and conceptual art. In 2010, Oblivia completed a three year project entitled ›Entertainment Island‹ looking at the world of entertainment and popular culture which was developed in part in two research residencies at PACT Zollverein. Equally their production ›MOPMA (Museum of Postmodern Art)‹ (2012) which premiered at PACT, was also created in part in residency here. In 2018 Oblivia return to PACT with their new piece ›Children And Other Radicals‹.
