Each of these academies has its own preferred philosophy towards dance education, favouring different methods, teachers/curriculum and working atmospheres. This individualism stems as much from each academy's founding traditions as it does from their current artistic policies that reflect dance developments of recent years.
The "1. International dance exchange Ruhr" was a chance to get to know these individual qualities and to learn from them.
Performances, combined classes in technique, repertoire and composition as well as workshops, offered all those taking part a substantial insight into one another's work.
Additional programme features arranged by Tanzlandschaft Ruhr for their guests, including discussion groups, films and excursions into North Rhine-Westphalia's dance scene, made this meeting a memorable European platform of significant value to everyone involved.
